Mr & Mrs Scorer in Balderton, Newark had a single toilet in their property which was situated on the ground floor, together with an additional bathroom (no toilet) located upstairs.
Their brief involved removing the existing bathroom suite to create enough space for an additional toilet, together with a separate shower which was to be as large as possible. The shower was to be fed from the existing combi boiler as the customer did not want an electric shower.
Firstly, the existing suite was removed before the walls were prepared for tiling and the new shower tray was installed. All of the tiling work was then completed in a clean and efficient manner.
In order to get the new toilet in upstairs, the ground floor toilet had to be removed to create a new soil stack to take both toilet wastes.
A false wall was then built to hide this pipe work. One slight issue was that the stop cock was also within this new wall. Rather than create a hatch or hole to get access to it, I replaced it with a Sure Stop Switch which simply switches the water off, very easy for an older person to use.
The new toilet was then fitted to the cloakroom downstairs.
Finally, the 900mm x 600mm shower was fitted with offset quadrant sliding doors. The shower valve fitted was an Aqualisa visage digital with an adjustable riser rail.
After installing the shower, the new toilet and sink units were placed into position.
